The Annual Asset Management Thought Leadership SummitTM
Litigation, Risk Management and Regulatory Reform - An Industry in Transition
Sheraton Hotel & Towers
811 7th Avenue (53rd Street), New York, NY
Monday, April 20th, 2009
About The Summit
During the last period of credit market dislocation and financial market correction most Investors and Fund Managers experienced
the sharp sting of the swift, shifting tide.
If history is a guide, a significant percentage of Investors, Fund Managers and Advisers shall fall prey to the financial turbulence
and industry turmoil, or the ensuing litigation and regulatory reform.
Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Plans, Endowments and Foundations continue to experience escalating pressure from their governing bodies,
as well as their underlying investors, plan participants or related institutions as well as other constituencies.
These Fund Allocators are caught between massive losses and declining fund values while experiencing escalating funding requirements.
For example, Pension Plans have an escalating wave of pension liabilities to retirees and plan participants. Similarly, Endowments
and Foundations continue to experience rising shortfalls given the funding requirements from their underlying Universities or benefactors.
Moreover, many SWFs must fund the shortfalls created by the dislocation in the credit markets, corrections in the financial markets and the escalating recessionary climate.
As the forces of market losses, declining fund values and rising fund liabilities converge, a new Era of Fund Allocator requirements and preferences shall emerge.
The Regulatory Compliance Association (RCA), the not-for-profit resource for compliance, risk management and governance education and the
National Futures Association are proud to present our annual Asset Management Thought Leadership SummitTM.
Against the backdrop of credit and financial market dislocation and recessionary climate, the Summit shall explore and evaluate several emerging trends
which shall re-shape the Asset Management Industry.
The Summit will provide invaluable practical guidance to develop comprehensive investment and due diligence processes as well as timely business strategies
to successfully navigate an industry in transition.
Please join us to explore with other senior level asset management executives how to hurdle the challenges and maximize the opportunities.
